New Minister of Agriculture in Denmark – Bondebladet
On Thursday morning, the Danish Prime Minister’s Office made public the new list of ministers. Among the newcomers is leftist Jacob Jensen (49). He is a “recreational farmer” in Vestsjælland and former environment spokesman for the Liberal Party. Jensen replaces Rasmus Prehn (S), for whom there was no place on the ministerial list.
In the area of agriculture, Jensen has made a name for himself over the years by sending countless debate articles to the agricultural press as the Liberal Party’s environment spokesperson. It writes burdrugsavisen.dk Thursday.
Among other things, he wrote in October during the election campaign to LandbrugsAvisen that he would be greatly concerned if Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) would decide on Danish agriculture for the next four years. Now they must rule together.
The Liberal Party’s food rapporteur Erling Bonnesen pointed out to the Norwegian newspaper agriculturesavisen.dk on Wednesday that it is positive for agriculture that his party has now joined the government. But the fact that this is happening has also been the subject of harsh criticism in recent days. The left accuses of having committed a breach of promise – both because the party now enters the government with the Social Democrats and because the demand for a lawyer’s assessment in the mink case is dropped.
A social democrat has been appointed as the new environment minister. The former Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke replaces Lea Wermelin, for whom no place has been found in the new cabinet.
As climate minister, Lars Aagaard (M) has been appointed. The former climate minister Dan Jørgensen (S) continued as minister for global climate policy. Morten Bødskov is the new minister of employment. You can see the entire list of ministers in the new government her.
