Canton of Zurich is launching a newsletter on the current energy situation
Although it has gotten significantly colder, the energy supply in Switzerland and the canton of Zurich is currently secured and no special measures or restrictions apply. However, an electricity and gas shortage later in the winter cannot be ruled out.
The management committee for the energy shortage of the Canton of Zurich, headed by the building department, is closely monitoring the situation and would like to share the most important findings from these observations with the population, the municipalities and companies. A newsletter will be launched for this purpose, which will be sent out for the first time next Monday, December 19, 2022.
The first issue contains a conversation with AWEL head of office Christoph Zemp, the report on a rough power failure exercise with the setting up of emergency meeting points in the city of Kloten, an initial assessment of the efforts to save electricity in the cantonal administration and other interesting information on the subject of energy .
In the winter of 2022/2023, the free energy shortage newsletter will be published regularly every three weeks, and more frequently if the situation worsens. Registrations are now possible via the website zh.ch/energieversorgung. In addition to an update on the current security of supply, subscribers also receive insights into the preparations and measures taken by the Canton of Zurich, background information, energy-saving tips from experts, information on important dates and events, etc.
