The City Hall of Prague 14 will enter next year in a provisional budget. It was decided by the representatives of the city district. The functioning of the town hall will thus be limited, it will only be able to use one twelfth of the previous budget each month.
At the same time, he will not be allowed to initiate new investment actions, but only reimburse those that were initiated in the previous year and have not yet ended. Prague 8 or 9 will also start provisionally next year. Town halls can only approve their budgets when the capital, which does not yet have one, accepts its own. City councilors will decide on it on December 15.
“given that the budget of the municipal district will not be approved by the end of the year for approved reasons, because it is not the budget of Prague, the management of Prague 14 will be governed by budget provisions from January 1, 2023,” said deputy mayor Mária Ševčíková (ANO). Thus, only operational matters and contracted projects will be financed.
The town hall entered this year provisionally, the council only approved the budget at the end of March this year. For this year, the town hall has approved a budget with revenues of 387.12 million and expenses of 541.29 million crowns. He will cover the difference from his savings from previous years or money from the city or the state. Approximately 208 million crowns will be spent on the investment.
Prague representatives will discuss the budget for 2023 at a meeting on Thursday. According to the preliminary proposal, Prague should manage revenues of 99.65 billion and spend 104.88 billion crowns. Against this year, there are supposed to be higher incomes and expenses, which will affect the growth of energy prices and wages. Income will be affected by inflation. The difference between income and expenditure will be compensated by, among other things, money from the state. About 20.2 billion crowns are earmarked for the investment. The new city management will decide where the money will go.
In Prague 14, they agreed on a coalition of ODS, ANO, Srdcem pro Praha 14 (STAN and KDU-ČSL) and the Naše 4trnáctka movement. ODS won the municipal elections in Prague 14 ahead of ANO. The mayor is Jiří Zajac (ODS). Prague 14 is located in the east of the metropolis and includes Černý Most, Hloubětín, Hostavice and Kyje. The district has approximately 47,000 inhabitants.
