Mayor Conti: “The bad weather emergency in Buonconvento is over”
The bad weather emergency that had arisen in the municipal area of Buonconvento has ended. It communicates it the mayor of Buonconvento, Riccardo Conti, who writes: “Yesterday the emergency due to bad weather ended with an orange code that put the municipal administration on alert, preparing any preventive action in order to be able to deal with an event that could potentially be very dangerous. Just think of December 6th, when a localized thunderstorm occurred in our municipal area with a yellow code, which in technical terms was defined as a self-healing storm, which put the entire minor hydraulic network and all the dirt roads in crisis. municipalities of major interest. It is my intention to thank all those who have stood by me in these days of emergency and have collaborated professionally and continuously. I thank all the junta, the councilor with delegation, the municipal employees starting from the technical office, the Municipal Police and the administrative area which made themselves available over the weekend for any procedures. The municipal workers who helped me manage the emergency, always in a rush due to the difficulties caused by the lack of personnel. I thank all the volunteers of the Vab Valdarbia, the president and the regional section of the Vab who have provided us with additional means and tools to deal with the orange alert”.
And mayor Conti writes again: “Thanks go to the Civil Engineers of the Tuscany Region for the support at any time on the hydrometric conditions of the catchment area, to the provincial administration in the person of President David Bussagli and all the staff involved, to the prefect of Siena Maria Forte and the Ccs, to the forces of order of the Carabinieri and to the citizens who collaborated constructively and proactively. Only by continuing to demonstrate attachment to the territory and civic sense in a responsible way can we think of growing as a community and overcoming difficulties. This time there were no dangers but in the worst case scenario we wouldn’t have been alone to face them”.
