Christmas in Šabach Park also attracts stalls with a program | PRAGUE 6 | News
After a two-year break forced by anti-covid measures, traditional Christmas has returned to Šabach Park. A rich program awaits visitors here every day, which fills the Advent markets full of Christmas goodies, decorations or charity stands.
“It is very important for us, because it strengthens the community. Today we have the opening. We start classically in the church of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church with a concert of the Central Music of the Army of the Czech Republic and then it spills over here to Petr Šabach Park. Here is the program until December 23 and then on the twenty-fifth there is such a final, that is again in the church, the Czech Christmas Mass by Jakub Jan Ryba and it is usually really crowded there, and in the meantime the program runs here every day,” said Jan Lacina (STAN), deputy mayor of Prague 6 Municipal Council.
“This year we are starting Christmas in Šabach Park. With the fact that it was accompanied by the question of what Christmas will be like after two years of covid, because the energy crisis came again. We decided that at a time when Prague’s good and bad moods are fighting each other 6 we lit up a week ago and today we are starting the Christmas of workshops, full of afternoon programs, performances and, of course, a little welding for adults,” said Jakub Stárek (ODS) – mayor of Prague 6.
The fourteen-day program will be directed by the association Nerudný fest, which is providing it for Prague 6 this year. For example, the Ivan Hlas Trio or the group Zrní will perform. Representatives of the town hall will also take part in the opening ceremony in Šabach Park. And what would they wish for the residents of the six?
“I would like to wish them to experience this Christmas together as one community, and above all, I would like to wish them in the new year that the year will be a bit happier and more comfortable than the previous year, which was full of surprises and twists that no one expected.” said Jakub Stárek (ODS) – mayor of Prague 6.
“We went through a really difficult year, complicated and affected by the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis, and there was not all good news. So let’s calm down a little, enjoy it and make the end of the year a good year, gather strength for the new one, which will hopefully be better than this year’s,” said Jan Lacina (STAN), deputy mayor of Prague 6.
Prague 6 also prepared a Christmas program at other locations. These include, for example, the Písecká brána or the Kaštan cultural center, and people can once again look forward to a public ice rink in Vypich.
