Arsenal continues against AC Milan and wins the competition
And two for the Gunners. This Tuesday, Arsenal won their second game in the Dubai Super Cup, a friendly competition in which OL and Liverpool also participate, against AC Milan (2-1, 4 TaB to 3). Mikel Arteta’s men have generally mastered the debates and deserved their victory against the reigning Italian champions. If the English could count on the return of Thomas Partey and Ben White in the starting XI after the World Cup, and that there were still beautiful people on the lawn, the two formations evolved without several internationals (Ramsdale , Saliba, Xhaka, Saka, Martinelli, but also Giroud, Hernandez and Leão). Arsenal make the difference in the first half. First thanks to a nice free kick from 20 meters converted by the left foot of Martin Ødegaard (21st).
Before a Reiss Nelson stirring on his left lane made the break on an ideal service from a very legged Fabio Vieira (42nd). And this while Divock Origi had created the first chance of the game, with a superb control sequence oriented behind the supporting leg – curled shot having mystified Rob Holding and ended its race on the top of the crossbar of the Gunners ( 11th). The second half was a bit more balanced and saw ACM close the gap on the scoreboard, with Fikayo Tomori getting the better of a header from Gabriel Magalhães after a corner kick from Sandro Tonali (78th). The current Premier League leader was able to hold on and resist the Italians at the end of the game. Note that as against OL (3-0, 2 TaB to 1), the Gunners won the penalty shootout (4-3) allowing them to get an extra point and win the Dubai Super Cup. If Ciprian Tătăruşanu stopped the penalty of the young Matt Smith, Karl Hein repelled the attempt of Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunić did not frame the last of this beautiful poster.
