POLITICIANS IN THEIR OWN WORDS Member of the council m of Prague for Prague on their Facebook on December 12 towards the end of the construction season
This year’s was extremely intense. In addition to repairs and maintenance of roads, bridges and sidewalks, we are also involved in major construction projects after three years of initial preparations. Dvorecký most, subway D, Štvanická lávka or preparatory work for the reconstruction of Libeňský most. All these events will also run during the winter. The end of the construction season belongs to three smaller, but still very high construction events.
Drum embankment
For years, a narrow footpath lined the Vltava near the Holešovice Market, where it was almost impossible to pass with a stroller. Soon we will open a beautiful and wide river promenade here with barrier-free and comfortable access to trams. In addition, we have newly located the Holešovická tržnice stop closer to the entrance to the area, where the Štvanická lávka, which we will open in the spring, will also open.
During the first stage, we focused on the stops and diversions of the water supply and sewerage system. We also put the tracks in a better position to make the tram ride more comfortable and faster, and at the same time the intersection with Argentinska was modified and improved. Trams will start running here again this Friday.
The second stage will be in the spring. The paving of the surfaces will be completed and the existing public lighting will be abolished, which will be transferred to combined poles with catenary lines.
Switchgear coupling
300 meters of the highway on the Rozvadovská spojka lay idle for 42 years without use. We are going to use it for a new approach, which will increase the capacity of Bucharova street and remove the unpleasant left turn from Bucharova to Rozvadovská spojka.
During this year’s first stage, we repaired the surfaces on the entire unused section and rerouted utility networks so that the ramp from Bucharova Street could be built in the spring. If everything goes according to plan, the drivers will drive through this place for the first time already in May.
Viennese
The exit from the South Junction onto Vídeňská Street and the entrance to it is a busy intersection that was in poor condition. We laid new surfaces up to the turn to the Krč station. We also installed new traffic lights with dynamic traffic control at the intersection, so that drivers can drive through it without unnecessary delays from Sunday.
