Slovakia is under a cyber attack by a Russian group
The head of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic, Jaroslav Naď, said today in the plenary session of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, during the discussion on the motion to dismiss the government, that the Ministry of Defense was subjected to a significant cyber attack.
“The Slovak Ministry of Defense is currently under a significant cyber attack. A specific attacker has already signed up for it. It’s a Russian group,” emphasized the minister.
He perceived the cyber attack as a reaction to his foreign trip to Ukraine on Thursday (12/8), where he was also with the Ministry of Economy Karl Hirman and the head of the Department of Diplomacy, Rastislav Káčer. “They must have thought that our trip to Ukraine should be rewarded in some way,” pointed out Naď.
“The National Security Agency cannot comment on a specific cyber security incident,” the spokesman of the office, Peter Habara, said that the law on cyber security imposes an obligation on the office to observe confidentiality.
Slovak Ministry in Ukraine
Slovakia is also come onalley prepared for Ukraine. After returning from an official visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, Minister of Defense Jaroslav confirmed this at a press conference on Friday Come on Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Rastislav Káčer.
“It is absolutely crucial for us that something like what is happening in Ukraine does not happen in other countries. The freedom, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine is built on the same principles as ours. Ukraine is defending itself against military aggression, and if it had not been so successful in defending itself, we might already have this military aggression on our territory,” stated Káčer.
According to Naď, the highest representatives of Ukraine are afraid that in the event of a change of government, aid from the Slovak Republic will end. “I heard concerns from at least three high-ranking constitutional officials that if there was a change of government, that government might not be pro-Ukrainian and pro-democratic,” added the Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic.
