Police Brussels South rolls up two cannabis plantations
At the end of November, the local police of the Brussels South zone (Anderlecht/Sint-Gillis/Vorst) rolled up two cannabis plantations, of unknown 800 and 300 plants. Three suspects were placed under arrest by the investigating judge. This is reported by the Brussels South police.
“The investigation into the cannabis plantations started in July 2022,” says the Brussels South police. “On the basis of operational information provided by our GOIB-OPL service, which is responsible for information gathering, our investigators were able to discover two suspects and track down one plantation. Further investigation resulted in a third suspect and an additional plantation.”
On November 29, police units raided the homes of the three suspects, and then the two buildings where the plantations were believed to be located.
The first building turned out to contain a plantation of 800 plants. The second plantation was discovered again under a hidden hatch and had 300 plants.
“During the house search, our services seized 13,000 euros, three vehicles, 6.5 kilograms of cannabis, 8 fake passports and luxury products,” the police said. The three suspects were placed under a warrant of arrest by the investigating judge.
