What to see in Florence: a riot of culture and entertainment
Bardini Garden
Oltrarno is the Florentine equivalent of the neighborhood Trastevere in Romewhich is sort of bohemian neighborhood.
Sure, Oltrano is less bohemian than Trastevere, but just as peaceful due to its location. The word Oltrarno means ‘the other side of the Arno’, which keeps things quite literal!
Here are some very beautiful panoramic points of Florence, including the Bardini Gardens. Very few people venture to see this treasured Florence attraction, which makes it a true. The gardens are part of a Renaissance villa of the Bardini family.
Tower of Pisa
There leaning tower of Pisa it’s a beautiful structure that would probably be famous even if the foundations were laid correctly, but the fact that it was built incorrectly makes it a must-see. The tower leans 5.5 degrees, and thanks to some restoration projects in 1999, it may never fall.
The tower takes its name from its hometown, Pisa, which is just over an hour by train and car from Florence.
If you just want to go to the tower, the train is the best option and you can take a taxi from the train station to the tower.
Five lands
The Cinque Terre, one of the most famous and no longer hidden “hidden treasures” of Italy, are located approximately 2.5 hours by car from Florence. It is therefore a great option for a day trip, although we recommend spending a night or two there.
If you are not familiar with it, the Cinque Terre is made up of five main towns and a few other smaller towns, connected by road, train and many hiking trails. The area is picturesque, colorful and natural like few others.
Holy spirit
Santo Spirito is a lively district of Florence where you will find shops, restaurants and some interesting places to have a drink or two. No trip to Florence is complete without visiting this area, especially as it is home to the famous palace of the Medici dynasty.
While this is definitely a spot on your Florence to-do list, a visit to Santo Spirito focuses on being able to eat and drink while in the area. I highly recommend heading to Gurdulu Gastronomia for a meal if you crave unique dishes and Osteria Cinghiale Bianco for the classics. I also recommend making a reservation at the Rooftop Bar La Loggia for a refreshing drink.
