West of Toulouse: swastikas, “Satan”, pentagrams … The municipal police found dozens of desecrated graves
The municipal police of Fontenilles discovered dozens of inscriptions on graves like swastikas. The town hall will file a complaint.
Strange inscriptions were first discovered on Monday on the mailboxes of a residence located near the cemetery of Fontenilles, a town in western Toulouse. Swastikas drawn sometimes in red felt-tip pen sometimes in black pen were found by municipal police officers. Worried and circumspect, the police decide to carry out a broader inspection, particularly within the cemetery itself. “There, no less than fifty tombs will lead to the subject of various and varied inscriptions. The author or authors have made mustaches like Hitler’s on the photos of the deceased, pentagrams but also writings evoking Satan, ”explains the mayor of the town, Christophe Tountevich. Among the inscriptions, a “Hitlaire”, no doubt a misspelled reference to the dictator. Crosses are also found on the graves have been returned.
Filing complaint
But according to the aedile, “there do not seem to be any religious or political demands. It is rather the fact of the stupidity of young people, perhaps minors, ”slips the chosen one again. Unthinkable for him, on the other hand, to allow these acts to pass. A complaint must be lodged by the municipality. “I am deeply outraged and disgusted. To trivialize these facts is to give up and we will never give up in the face of these acts of extreme cowardice. Soiling the memory of the deceased, of families, is to insult the living,” insists Christophe Tountevich.
City officials cleared the graves, targets of these desecrations. The families of the deceased have been notified. Investigations designated to the gendarmes are underway in order to find the trace of the perpetrator(s).
