Coronavirus, 293 new cases in Pisa and its province

In Tuscany there are 2,209, a regional positivity rate of 21.5%. Stable hospitalizations and intensive therapies. 11 deaths, 1 in the Pisa area

There are 2,209 new cases of Covid-19 registered in the last twenty-four hours in Tuscany: 427 were confirmed with molecular swab and the other 1,782 with rapid test. The number of infected people detected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic therefore rises to 1,539,726. New cases are 0.1% more than the previous day’s total. The healed grow by 0.1% (761 people) and reach 1,457,106 (94.6% of total cases).

The data relating to the progress of the pandemic are those ascertained today on the basis of the requests of the national civil protection.

At the moment, therefore, there are 71,388 positives in Tuscany, + 2.1% compared to yesterday. Of these 540 (stable compared to yesterday) are hospitalized: 23 (1 less) are in intensive care. The list of deaths is updated with 11 new deaths: 6 men and 5 women with a mean age of 84.9 years.

Since the last daily bulletin, 875 molecular swabs and 9,393 rapid antigenic swabs have been performed: of these, 21.5% tested positive. On the other hand, 2,259 subjects were tested, excluding control swabs: 97.8% of these were positive.

The trend by province

With the latest cases, the positives since the beginning of the emergency in the municipalities of the metropolitan city of Florence rise to 414,655 (451 more than yesterday), 101,320 in the province of Prato (101 more), 120,456 in Pistoia (128 more) , 79,323 in Massa Carrara (204 more), 167,538 in Lucca (337 more), 179,575 in Pisa (293 more), 140,859 in Livorno (267 more), 138,900 in Arezzo (141 more), 110,094 in Siena (139 more) and 85,927 in Grosseto (139 more). To these must be added 569 cases of positivity notified in Tuscany but which concern residents in other regions.

Tuscany has about 41,695 total cases per 100,000 inhabitants since the beginning of the pandemic (between residents and non-residents). At the moment, the notification province with the highest rate is Lucca (with 43,635 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), followed by Pisa (42,962) and Livorno (42,815). The lowest concentration is found in Prato (with a rate of 38,195).

70,848 are in isolation at homebecause they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (1,437 more than yesterday, plus 2.1%).

The 1,457,106 healed registered to date are in all respects, from a viral point of view, certified with a negative swab.

The list of deaths is updated with 11 new deaths: 6 men and 5 women with an average age of 84.9 years.

With regard to the province of residence, the deceased are: 6 in Florence, 1 in Pisa2 in Livorno, 2 in Arezzo.

11,232 have died since the beginning of the epidemic: 3,562 in the metropolitan city of Florence, 911 in the province of Prato, 1,003 in Pistoia, 710 in Massa Carrara, 1,054 in Lucca, 1,260 in Pisa, 841 in Livorno, 718 in Arezzo, 602 in Siena, 410 in Grosseto. Vanno added 161 people who died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

The crude mortality rate for Covid-19 (number of deceased/resident population) is currently 304.2 per 100,000 residents. As far as the provinces are concerned, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (374.0 per 100,000 inhabitants), followed by Florence (356.8 x100,000) and Pistoia (345.6 x100,000), while the lowest is in Grosseto (188.2×100,000).
