In Toulouse, Laura Demichelis is a bronze artist
Based in Toulouse, Laura Demichelis is a bronze artist. The latter was trained at the Boulle school in Paris, where in 2010 she obtained a diploma in crafts specializing in bronze work.
Laura Decommence began working in the workshops of designer Van Der Straeten in Paris, where she devoted herself to the manufacture of bronze furniture.
She then opened up to the world and traveled to report for a year, in Asia, to learn more about bronze crafts and local art foundry techniques. Laura lived an initiatory journey which returned enriched in creativity and inspired by the material and the know how Vietnamese ancestors.
She then moved to Berlin and worked for two years with the designer Stefan Leo where, there too, she discovered new techniques and new materials, such as leather, parchment or glass, and reinforced her design choices.
It was in 2016 that she integrated and created L’Atelier Demichelis, in Toulousefor which she designs and manufactures lighting fixtures and contemporary bronze furniture.
Rich in all her experience, Laura now offers unique creations, or in small series entirely handmade in her workshop in the heart of the pink city, which she sells through interior design firms.
This artist knew how to assert himself in the world of crafts, dusting off the image of the bronze object, through works for interior furniture (lamps, consoles, stools, etc.). A passionate, independent and recognized artist, since she also exhibits her works in several exhibitions.
