Evacuation of a building in Toulouse: the hypothesis of the collapse ruled out
The intervention of the firefighters began around 3:30 p.m. five vehicles and about fifteen men arrived at Place des Carmes in the center of Toulouse to evacuate the area. The building concerned is located at 17 place des Carmes. I find a wine merchant and a press at the foot, as well as dwellings on the upper floors. The building adjoins the famous Morning Bar and is opposite the large Carmes market.
No structural risk on the building

The firefighters specify this afternoon that there is no structural risk according to the specialists who carried out the first inspections. It’s actually abouta staircase that collapsed in the basement.
This is not the first time that a building has been at risk of collapsing in downtown Toulouse. In November 2019, the the roof of a building had collapsed
rue Cujas, near La Daurade.
