It is a symbol, which marks entry into concrete of the “project of the century”, which must profoundly transform the daily lives of many Toulouse residents. A ten days from the beginning of civil engineering work, announced by the boss of Tisséo Jean-Michel Latte for Thursday, December 15, 2022, the transport authority has just revealed itself on Monday the new logo of the third line, which will logically be called… “line C”.
After red and yellow, here comes green!
As Toulouse news revealed it to you a few weeks ago, after the red of line A, the yellow of line B, the newcomer to the Toulouse metro network will indeed sport a green color.
To “network”, Jean-Michel Latte announced in October that the future line C would have “a visual identity which will be the same as the first two. The identification of metro entrances in the street will be identical, and the 3e line will have a distinct colorway.
“The choice of green is a nod to the fact that we are in great environmental concern, and that line C will be a major asset in the fight against pollution”.
Pink for Téléo, blue for the tram…
While Téléo has assumed pink, green is no longer “used by any heavy mode of the network” in Toulouse, observes Tisséo, also specifying on Monday that “the color blue was not retained because it represents the two tram lines.
“The choice fell on the green color which has the advantage of not being used by any heavy mode of the Tisséo network. This color also refers to the ecological scope of this new metro”.
A provisional logo for the metro
During construction, users will also discover a temporary logo, intended to “reinforce the concept of transition and transformation”, accompanied by a slogan “line C advances”, explains the organization. This logo has three circles which represents the tunnel and the three entities Tisséo who is working on the new metro”, details the transport authority.
How will the current “line C” of the train be renamed?
As for the name of the 3e line, if, on paper, the answer seemed obvious, Tisséo had to face a major obstacle: the C line is currently the name of the SNCF line which rests Colomiers… in the Arènes district in Toulouse. And he’s going need to be renamed.
“We are going to launch a vast ‘renaming’ operation which concerns both the current train line C which needs to be renamed, the future 3e metro line, but also all the stations for we had so far designated technical and provisional names”, indicated Jean-Michel Lattes.
On the public transport network in Toulouse, users have not finished seeing all the colors!
