More money for childcare: State of Salzburg support by 60 percent
The state of Salzburg increases the subsidy for all-day childcare to 40 euros per month. After the support was reduced to 25 euros in 2014, there is now more money for the families for the first time.
SALZBURG. There will be more money for childcare in Salzburg from January. All-day places are funded with 40 euros per month, half-day places with 20 euros. For low-income families, there is also the option of applying to have the state take over all the costs of childcare. Single parents who earn less than 2,275 euros net per month receive an annual subsidy of up to 700 euros. The whole thing will be paid out retrospectively from September. is paid out from January 1, 2023. Low-income families and single parents can already now their submit applications.
First time increase
There was a great outcry in 2014 when the financial support for childcare in the state of Salzburg was halved from 50 euros to 25 euros per month. Now it is raised again for the first time. From now on there are again 40 euros per month for full-day places and 20 (instead of 12.50 euros) for half-day places. This increase is intended to support families in times of high inflation.

More money for single parents
With a subsidy of up to 700 euros per year, all-day care for the children of single parents who earn less than 2,275 euros net per month is to be promoted.
The increase in parental contributions applies retrospectively from September 1, 2022 and will be paid out at the beginning of the new year. Applications for the subsidy for low-income families and single parents can already be submitted now. 1.4 million will be made available for this from the state budget. In total, the state will spend five million euros in the coming year to expand and promote childcare.
