I stayed in Bulgaria and I don’t regret it
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just want to tell you that when I had the opportunity to leave and not return, I preferred to stay in Bulgaria and I don’t regret it. I love you”. With these completed culminating words, the concert from the national tour of Lili Ivanova. The event was filled to capacity in the largest Bulgarian hall, Arena Sofia.
The biggest and usual name in Bulgarian pop music from 16 songs, which were a kind of walk from her entire over 60-year creative career. The concert opens with the latest from Lily Reporter – “Out of Control”, “Hear My Soul”, “Life”. This was followed by “Stud” – a song from 1989 that sounds in a new arrangement, as well as “If I Stop Loving”. After “I want you”, the hall was already on its feet and applauded “This World is a Woman”, “Incredible”, “The Stormy River”.
Following the performance of one of her biggest hits of the last 15 years – “I was for you”, Lilly said: “I drank a lot, but let’s see together what we will do.” The whole hall sang in chorus “Cricket”, “Clovers”, “Fairs”, “Warning” and “Winds” – another favorite of Bulgarian songs, which returns to Lily’s concert repertoire with a new sound, with a solo violin. “Judgment”, the song in which Lili Ivanova sings “My last word will be a song”, put the final point.
There was a surprise at the end of the concert, when Kubrat Pulev appeared on stage, and Lily introduced him as “a very big Bulgarian”.
“You are unique. All successful people know how much emotion you give, how much love, how much happiness to all of us, to the whole of Bulgaria. You are a phenomenon in Bulgarian music. You are unique and you will allow yourself to speak for everyone – that we value you very much and love you very much,” said the former national competitor.
In addition to a huge bouquet of Bulgarian roses, Lili Ivanova received from Pulev a copy of the amphora from the golden Thracian treasure. “Because Lily is a real treasure, Lily this is a gift for you. I tried to take the original, but the security is very serious,” joked the athlete.
