ZFE of Toulouse. New aid soon to be put in place for motorists and bikers

It’s a boost for a whole group of people who were hitherto excluded from the system: aid for the conversion of Toulouse metropolis will be extended to new types of vehicles during 2023.
After the “ZFE pass”
It is in any case one of the announcements of the follow-up committee of the Toulouse ZFE which was held on Friday, November 25, with associations of users and representatives of companies. At this same meeting, Francois Cholletvice-president of Toulouse Métropole in charge of the ZFE announced thata ZFE pass was to be implemented in the first quarter of 2023 and thus allow vehicles excluded from the Toulouse low-emission zone to cycle there 54 days a year.
Deliberation of a future metropolitan council
A provision that must be voted on during the December metropolitan council. The extension of the aid will be the subject of a deliberation which will be presented to the metropolitan council in February.
“The idea is to modify the criteria so that the aid system also benefits vehicles with a Crit’air 3 sticker which will be excluded from the ZFE in 2024, explains François Chollet to Toulouse news. These first will also be extended to motorcycle changes. »
A request from bikers
Bikers have so far been excluded from this clean vehicle bonus system, carried by Toulouse metropolis and which is aimed at the inhabitants of its territory. With financial aid for individuals, professionals and associations, for the replacement of a polluting vehicle with a low-emission vehicle. These aids are attributed means-tested.
Aids that were eagerly awaited by bikers. “This announcement responds to our request”, explains the French federation of angry bikers from Haute-Garonne who considers that the old system from which motorcyclists were excluded amounts to “discrimination” for motorcyclists “for whom the purchase of a motorbike is an investment”.
Bikers wanna go longer
Remember that the biker association wants things to go further and is asking for a permanent derogation from the Toulouse ZFE for all motorcyclists “because of their low impact on the environment due to a shorter travel time and a low number of 2 engines in circulation. »
