Toulouse. The TFH goes into battle without complex
After dominating last week at Vaulx-en-Velin, one of their direct competitors for maintenance, the Toulousaines, 8th, move to 2nd in the standings.
“It’s not asked for one of the matches that we scored at the start of the season with the V for imperative victory. But, of course, each game is important and we go there without complexes.” TFH coach (8th, tied on points with Le Havre, 7th, and Bouillargues, 9th), Fabien Vedel knows it full well: against the big teams in the championship, like this evening in Achenheim Truchtersheim (2nd), his proteges do not count do some figuring.
Admittedly, for the moment, facing three of the first four in the standings, the Toulousaines have each time conceded defeat. But by linking the scores, they did not take a real correction: 26-20 to Sambre Avesnois (4th), 32-29 ahead of Stella Saint-Maur (leader) and 29-27 against CA Béglais (3rd). “Of the three promoted, we are the team that took the last ticket for the climb. So, maybe we went a little more in sight and our opponents in this D2 did not imagine us at this 8th place after seven days. In any case, for the moment, except perhaps during the 1st day at Sambre Avesnois, we have not felt a huge gap in level with the two other teams that make up the top 4 at the top of the standings”, indicates the Toulouse goalkeeper Andrea de la Torre Perez who made 17 saves last Saturday during the success (the third of the season) obtained at Vaulx-en-Velin (30-22).
The infirmary is a bit full
A victory in Lyon, for once, which was targeted at the start of the season. “Yes, on paper, this opponent is one of those who should have been within our reach. During this meeting, I think we had good control. Defensively, we were quite solid. Certainly, we did not miss bad shots. Despite everything, for this resumption match after this long break, it was important not to miss out on one of our direct competitors for the maintenance”, summarizes the goalkeeper of the TFH.
The only downside is that the infirmary has filled up a bit. “Yes, we have to deal with a few minor injuries. The girls concerned will therefore be left to rest for this trip”, confirms Fabien Vedel. Logistically, the Toulousaines had to leave by train. But their plan fell through. “Fortunately, we found a solution and we are taking the road by bus”, explains the Toulouse coach. Phew!
