Charlène, Jacques and Gabriella from Monaco, Raphaël Elmaleh and Charlotte Casiraghi inaugurate the “Christmas Village in Spitsbergen”
This December 2, 2022, Princess Charlene of Monaco reflected the traditional Christmas village of the Rock. For a month, Monegasques could visit this village and immerse themselves in the magic of Christmas. Princess Charlene was accompanied by Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella as well as Charlotte Casiraghi. Charlotte took her son Raphaël Elmaleh with her.

Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella open the Christmas Village with their mum
Prince Albert II of Monaco was in Athens on Thursday to attend a sustainability conference and awards ceremony. The following day, the Sovereign Prince was in Germany, in Dusseldorf, to present another sustainability award in the presence of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Prince Albert could not therefore be in Monaco this Friday, December 2 to proceed with the inauguration of the Christmas village.
The Christmas Village is a Christmas market and space with activities, stalls and attractions for families and children. The Christmas village unfolds for a month, from December 2, 2022 to January 2, 2023, on the Quai Albert 1er. Princess Charlene, 44, was in charge of inaugurating the village, which this year is inspired by Spitsbergen. Spitsbergen is an island in the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard. The theme was chosen to pay tribute to Prince Albert 1st. The explorer prince had made an expedition to Spitsbergen.

Princess Charlene had taken with her her two children, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, who will celebrate their 8th birthday in just a week. Princess Gabriella wore a red coat in the spirit of Christmas, while Hereditary Prince Jacques wore a plaid shirt. Even the dancers at La Palladienne were decked out in red boleros with white fur, reminiscent of Santa’s costume.
Charlotte Casiraghi, 36, 11th in line to the Monegasque throne, accompanies her aunt and cousins at the inauguration of the Christmas village. Charlotte was accompanied by her eldest son, Raphaël Elmaleh, born in 2013, from her relationship with comedian Gad Elmaleh. Charlotte is also the mother of Balthazar Rassam, whom she had in 2018 with her husband, Dimitri Rassam. Raphaël was very elegant with a bow tie.
A Benty Brothers Music concert and fireworks are planned for New Year’s Eve. Magical “wanderings” are carried out almost every day.
