MČ Prague 22 helps prepare students for future professions PRAGUE | News
Visiting the office not only at the counters, but also behind them. This is one of the best ways to prepare students for the future.
“We are located in the town hall of the Municipal Council of Prague 22 and today I invited the pupils on an excursion and I want to show them the office, because when they graduate, they will probably become officials” said the mayor
“I brought pupils from a secondary school, an economic vocational training center and a grammar school with a focus on public administration. The pupils are still studying in their first year, but they are already learning about self-government, state administration, public administration, etc. and it will be their matriculation subject, so I think that this is a beneficial excursion for them and they learn a lot of interesting and important things from practice,” said the professor
A school graduate with this focus should find employment in the field of state administration and self-government. In practice, this means, for example, working in an office or working with the police.
The goal of the field trips is to create a comprehensive picture of the operations at individual workplaces for these students.
“I will try, where I allow it in the offices, to take them through the entire office, show them the individual departments, show them how the office works, explain to them the difference between interstate administration and local government and give it a human dimension,” said the mayor
During the tour, the students met workers from many positions and could ask what they were interested in.
“I chose this field because it can be applied anywhere and because I’m interested in it,” said the student.
“I’m not entirely sure what I want, but I’m going to focus on something, I’ll make up my mind,” said the student.
“I would like to work either as a registrar or as a social worker,” said the student.
“I would like to work in an office,” said the student.
“I would also like to work in an office, so this field was suitable and I am connected so far,” said the student.
“Ever since I was little, I discussed with my parents what I was going to do, so we decided that I would probably be a clerk, the bad one,” said the student.
“I enjoy working with papers and I would like to annoy people a bit” said the student.
An integral part of the studies is the mandatory professional practice, which the students are still waiting for. The City Council of Prague 22 also allows this.
