Toulouse. At TCMS, we count on Laura Escande
Former player of Stade Toulousain and Blagnac, Laura Escande wears number 15 of the railway club. A club where she launched her career. This year, she is thinking with her teammates about qualifying.
Rugby is above all a collective adventure. The quality of the collective is also the fruit of individualities. Within the TCMS, one of the last neighborhood clubs of intramural Toulouse, a player is one of the essential beams of the structure. Catalan of origin, unconditional supporter of Usap, Laura Escande discovered rugby 3 years ago. “I came to Toulouse as part of a professional project. By chance, I discovered the TCMS which welcomed me with open arms.” The test was brilliantly transformed since Laura subsequently evolved at the highest level at Blagnac then at Stade Toulousain contesting with the “red and black” the 2018 and 2019 finals unfortunately lost against Montpellier.
“We are aiming for qualification”
At 34, Laura Escande returned to her favorite club. Club where she was part of the coaching when the latter was champion of France of Federal 2 in 2018. Currently, the Catalan is still faithful to the rear position. She is also captain of the pennant team which evolved in a group dominated by the South-East composed of Drômoises de Granoise, Béziers, Millau, Ponettes Corse and Nîmes.
In the standings, the Toulousaines occupy the middle of the table with only two games played. “The match against Nîmes has been postponed. Toulon withdrew forfeit, that’s why we only played two games. Of the two games played, we have a victory over Béziers at home (16-8) and a defeat with the defensive bonus at home against the Corsican Ponettes. Sunday, we travel to Grâne with the desire to seek victory. We have an interesting group, we are aiming for qualification.”
After the national coronation of 2018 in Fédérale 2, the club had plans to access Elite 2. Unfortunately, the Covid 19, the two white seasons in 2020 and 2021 put a brake on Toulouse’s ambitions. For the time being, the management, the players and the leaders want to live well in Federal 1 while hoping one day to access the second national level.
