The newly renovated Clam-Gallas Palace in Prague on Mariánské náměstí hosts the exhibition: Josef Mysliveček detto Il Boemo. There and get to know the composer’s life, time and work. The fashion of the period will transport the visitor to the world of the eighteenth century in Prague and Italy.
At the exhibition you will see 12 of the most distinctive film costumes. They are almost indistinguishable from those of the time. They were produced using contemporary methods.
The costume pearl of the entire exhibition is the dress of one of the film’s singers.
In one of the two projection rooms, they have the opportunity to listen to Mysliveck’s arias. The music recordings made for the film IL Boemo are sung by the world’s leading singers.
The visual materials also present visitors with the Italy of Mysliveček’s time and familiarize them with the world and customs of the people that the composers of the opera commissioned. The visitor thus follows the education and fate of castrati or the adventures of travel at that time or the problems of the life of artists of that time. Information about Mysliveček’s life is then mapped by exhibition panels.
Composer Josef Mysliveček belongs to the most famous European opera composers of the second half of the 18th century. A close friend of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, he composed 30 operas, ten oratorios, symphonies, concertos and much chamber and church music.
