“Days of Bulgaria” is gaining momentum in Canada and throughout North America
The unique initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Toronto, Canada – “Days of Bulgaria” is gaining momentum in Canada and throughout North America.
After several successful visits to various places in the most densely populated province of Canada – Ontario, the team of the General Consulate will now receive several more requests to present Bulgaria with the “Bulgaria Days” initiative in various settlements in the region. In 2023, the team plans to hold “Bulgaria Days” on the territory of the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta in Canada.
In January, the city of Pleven will be presented in the city of Plevna, province of Ontario, Canada. The name of the city comes from the Bulgarian city of Pleven and more precisely, it takes its name from the siege of Pleven. You will learn more details from the mayor of the city when the staff of the Consulate General meet with him and his team. We will inform about all the details about the event.
Last week, the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria organized “Bulgaria Days” for the second time in a row in Huron County in the province of Ontario, Canada. The event is being held with the help of the mayors of Shipka and Varna in Huron County, Ontario – Mr. Paul Klopp and Mr. George Finch.
The first part of the series of events is created at the beginning of the month of September.
It is in Huron County that the two cities that became famous among the numerous Bulgarian community after their promotion by the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Toronto are located – the city of Varna and the city of Shipka, bearing their names from Bulgaria.
And holding “Days of Bulgaria” is part of the initiatives that will introduce the local population to various places in our country and its history.
The first two meetings with the local community are held with great interest and draw attention to the people of the region and the surrounding area.
The local media publish comprehensive information about Bulgaria as well as about the performance of the Bulgarian dance ensembles and groups that took an active part in the presentation of our country. The first presented city was Varna, and the second – Plovdiv. Now Pleven is coming.
We have already sent the invitation and we expect a positive response from several Bulgarian formations that are interested in participating in our “Days of Bulgaria”.
