SNCF strike: what to expect for this weekend
After the social movement which had paralyzed the rail network in mid-October, a new strike notice was filed by the unions for this weekend. It should in particular affect the TGV connections.
Be careful if you plan to travel in France by train between Friday 2 and Sunday 4 December : CFDT, Unsa and Sud-Rail trade unions ordering SNCF staff to stop work for three days.
A social movement whose goal is to make heard the cause of some 10,000 skippers company (more colloquially referred to as “controllers”). Captains who would be ” the great forgotten of the equation while they are the showcase business of the SNCF “, regrets the trade unionist from Sud-Rail Rénald Szpitalnik, interviewed by AFP.
Disruptions to expect
At this point, we know that the strike expected this weekend should mainly affect the TGV and Intercités networks. One in two trains should run on average for the latter and one in three for the TGVs in the Grand Est.
Connections between Luxembourg and Paris will be particularly impacted with several TGVs already announced as “cancelled” this weekend between the Grand Duchy and the French capital:

How to get information to anticipate?
Concerning the follow-up of the social movement in Lorraine, all the information related to the disturbances will be found on the sites TER Great East and SNCF Connection.
The railway company promises in any case toexchange free of charge (until Thursday 8 December in trains where there is still space) or fully refund trips scheduled between Friday December 2 and Monday December 5, even if the journeys in question have not been deleted.
And the galley may not be over for users who could well see their journeys planned for Christmas and New Year weekends also compromised: two other strike notices having been filed on these dates by the unions.
