David Coulthard, the legendary F1 driver, visited Slovakia

Sugar Mizzy November 30, 2022

The legend of F1, David Coulthard, pleased all F1 fans and enthusiasts yesterday with his visit to Bratislava, during which he managed several activities. Starting with interviews with the media, meetings with influencers at Kart One Arena, up to an excellent show with Števo Eisel at the EisKing Tour.

David Coulthard visited Slovakia

David raced in Formula 1 for almost fifteen seasons. After Williams and McLaren, they became one of the main faces of the then new Red Bull Racing team. He loved racing since he was a child and stayed with it, even when he no longer sat in a single-seater. He still has a lot of fans, also because people could see him in a monopost right here in 2007 and he played the main role in an epic video From castle to castle 14 years later, it has a special place in the hearts of Slovak F1 fans.

It was moments such as the opening of Sitina or the filming of the video Z hradu na hrad that reminded him of what it was like to be a Formula 1 driver and nostalgically return to those times. As he himself added, for which he is extremely grateful.

“Red Bull Racing is present loyal to the athletes who have played a role in building their success. I still feel a sense of pride when I see how the team is doing,” said David Coulthard.

As one of the first to drive for Red Bull, he also told us about his beginnings at that time. “Before signing the contract, I had the honor of meeting Dietrich Mateitz. I wanted a clear understanding of his goals and motivations. That’s when I was completely taken by his determination and attitude, which I hadn’t seen before, and that’s stayed with all of that until today.”

And what about his relationship with Slovakia? “I can only say that great energy reigns in Slovakia. The people are nice and friendly, and maybe that’s why I always feel very good here.” David commented.

After the talks, David moved to the Kart One arena, where 15 riders were already waiting for his advice, including Zuzka Vráblová, multiple world champion in wake-skating, popular young actor Oliver Oswald, actor and musician Matúš “Yael” Kolarovský, well-known TV couple Xénia Gregušová and Lukáš Stanislav, or streamer Donato, who finally took first place from the race, along with a signed trophy from David. So that’s something!

And now DC is moving on to Stará Tržnica, where crowds of fans were already eagerly waiting together with Števo Eisel and Josef Kráľ, starting with the Red Bull Racing RB18 single-seater, which came onto the stage. During the popular show, EisKing revealed a lot of behind-the-scenes information from the F1 carousel, his predictions, and there were also funny moments that amused the entire Stará Tržnica.

More about David Coulthard

David is in Slovakia for the fourth time! For the first time in 1997 together with Miko Hakkinen, he continued in 2007 – at the opening of the Sitina tunnel, which he remembered with a smile even yesterday. It was the only moment when the Red Bull Racing single-seater was passing through the tunnel. And his third visit was truly unforgettable! Perhaps no one missed his visit in 2021 during the filming of the Red Bull Racing From castle to castle video (www.redbull.sk/f1)

Also worth mentioning is the recent launch of his “More Than Equal” initiatives to find a female F1 driver (https://www.morethanqual.com/about-us).
