BILBAO

Elixabete Etxanobe, Ana Otadui and Aburto, PNV candidates for general deputy, president of Juntas and mayor of Bilbao

Sugar Mizzy November 29, 2022

BILBAO, 29 Nov. (EUROPEAN PRESS) –

The EAJ-PNV Territorial Assembly, meeting this afternoon in Sabin Etxea, has designated the people who will represent the formation in the next electoral appointment on May 28, 2023. In this way, the highest decision-making body of EAJ-PNV in Bizkaia has ratified Elixabete Etxanobe and Ana Otadui as candidates for Deputy General of Bizkaia and President of the General Meetings of Bizkaia, respectively. In the same way, the internal process of the municipal assemblies of Bilbao has concluded with the re-election of Juan Mari Aburto as a candidate for mayor of the town for the third consecutive time.

As reported by the PNV, the Territorial Assembly, made up of representatives of all the municipal organizations of Bizkaia, has thus unanimously given its go-ahead to the integrating proposals of the four electoral constituencies into which the territory is divided and which, as is its will happen, the Bizkai Buru Batzar during the internal process started at the beginning of October.

Of the four electoral constituencies into which Bizkaia is divided, Etxanobe will lead that of Durango-Arratia, while Otadui will lead that of Bilbao. The other two will be led by Jane Eyre Zuzaeta (Busturia-Uribe) and Josu Bergara López (Enkarterri). With this proclamation, the internal process launched by the Bizkai Buru Batzar on October 4 to designate candidates for public office in the territory is completed.

With the proclamation by the Territorial Assembly of the candidates, the internal process launched by the Bizkai Buru Batzar last September with the announcement of its proposals is completed.

As usual in the internal election processes of EAJ-PNV, the Municipal Organizations of the territory have had to hold two rounds. In the first one, the candidates of the constituency corresponding to each municipal organization were named, being able to present other names to those initially proposed by the Bizkai Buru Batzar.

In the second round, from among the lists sent by the EAJ-PNV National Guarantee and Control Commission, each Organization appointed the candidate for general deputy and the president of the General Meetings of Bizkaia, and all the people who make up the jeltzale candidacy in the constituency to which each organization belongs. Likewise, each municipal assembly granted the imperative mandate to its proxies to ratify the candidacies that have been approved this afternoon in the Territorial Assembly.

BILBAO MAYOR’S OFFICE

For their part, the 13 EAJ-PNV municipal organizations in Bilbao have placed their trust in the current mayor, Juan Mari Aburto, as a candidate to revalidate the mayoralty for the third time in a row in the upcoming election on May 28.

In Bilbao, the proposal for candidates for municipal public office, including the Mayor’s Office, is prepared jointly by Bizkai Buru Batzar and Interjuntas. Once said list was drawn up, it was transferred to the 13 municipal organizations of the town so that the corresponding internal process could begin, in which, as usual, the two rounds of rigor were held, and recently concluded with the proclamation of the current mayor to revalidate the position.
