DAVID ODDON – (…) Leaving cryptocurrencies in their current “unregulated” state poses a number of significant problems for consumers, who run the risk of buying unsuitable products they don’t really understand. Furthermore, in the absence of minimum legal standards for operational risk, including cyber risks, investors are exposed to dangers such as hacking, trading disruptions, non-transparent fees and data loss. Until all of this is resolved, consumer and investor protection at this time will be through market participant regulations, particularly in relation to investment firms and closing venues. A little frankly, especially in relation to the amount of transactions! And San Marino? The goal is to have the sector regulated by the end of the year. Certainly an ambitious goal, but also fundamental to protect users, but also to allow those who have what it takes to operate.
