Saint-Orens-de-Gameville. The Toulouse Symphony Chamber in concert this afternoon
The Toulouse Symphonic Chamber will give the “Romantics” concert on the Altigone stage, Sunday, November 27. It performs three masterpieces from the German repertoire, from the sources of romanticism. That of Victor Hugo would perhaps not have existed without the heroism of Goethe. The same goes for the music of Brahms and Saint-Saëns, which is rooted in the revisited classicism of Mozart and Beethoven. Ludwig van Beethoven’s third so-called “heroic” symphony was dedicated to Bonaparte before he proclaimed himself emperor. Following this event, Beethoven crossed out the dedication with such fury that he pierced the manuscript of the score with his pen.
The Chambre Symphonique de Toulouse was created in 2017 by its musical director Charles d’Hubert. Membership and formation may vary from chamber orchestra to full symphony orchestra. She performs a vast repertoire, driven by the dynamism of young professional musicians in the making. Program: Egmont, op.84, L.van Beethoven. Clarinet Concerto in A major, K.622, WA Mozart
Symphony n°3 “Eroica” in Eb major, op.55, L.van Beethoven.
