On the occasion of the opening of the agraria trade fair in Wels on Wednesday, the President of the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture (LKÖ), Josef Moosbrugger, reported that he had commissioned an analysis and a strategy concept for security of supply for all departments in the LKÖ Cap.

Comprehensive, technical basis for advocacy
“The global political situation shows how indispensable vital agriculture and forestry in one’s own country is for supplying our population with food, renewable energy and raw materials. The farmers and processing companies deserve respect and recognition. However, this security of supply cannot be taken for granted. “I have commissioned all departments of LK Austria to carefully examine their specialist areas in order to identify existing ‘Archilles’ heels’ and starting points for improvements. We will then bring these findings into one mould, namely an agricultural and forestry strategy concept for security of supply, which will represent a comprehensive, technical basis for our further work in politics, education and advice,” says the LKÖ President.
While the last few months after the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia war were characterized by acute management, the result of this work should serve as a guide for further interest-political activity – in the interest of our agriculture and forestry, but also of security of supply for the population.
Decisive safety factor for the future
“Our environmentally friendly farming and forestry in Austria is an indispensable future sector, a central basis of our life. Their importance for the security of supply should not only be accepted, but also appreciated and anchored in all areas of politics,” concluded the LKÖ President.
