What would have happened to her if she hadn’t escaped from that abandoned trailer? A woman was the victim of a rape on Tuesday November 15, in Ramonville Saint-Agne, south of Toulouse.

As usual, that evening, the victim decides to walk in the park of the “Fifty Farm”, an area where families and walkers mix during the day. But when she walks around 8 p.m., at nightfall, this woman seems alone. After a few minutes spent wandering on a path, she is discouraged by a thirty-something. This man claims to have lost his mobile phone and asks for help to find it.

He drags her to an abandoned trailer

Back to the wall, the victim seems to be forced to accept. Initial searches turn up nothing. The owner of the mobile phone therefore offers this woman to explore an abandoned caravan, sometimes squatted by homeless people. The victim suspects nothing and agrees to continue the excavations. But once inside the caravan, the trap closes. This woman in her forties is stuck. The suspect prevents her from leaving and forces her to have sex with him. She protests but he rapes her. Despite the trauma she has just suffered, this courageous woman struggles and manages to recover her belongings before running away. She rushes home and alerts the police.

Following this complaint, the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office immediately opened a rape investigation and entrusted the investigations to the research brigade of the Villefranche-de-Lauragais gendarmerie company, assisted by the Castanet community of brigades. The victim is taken care of by a medical examiner.

A few minutes after his deposition, the soldiers deploy significant resources to find the suspect. In addition to a criminal identification technician, they benefit from the support of a portraitist. With the help of the victim, this professional draws the face of the aggressor. And the gendarmes seem to recognize an individual already known by their services. He is a 37-year-old marginal.

After having patrolled throughout the sector, the suspect was finally apprehended on Sunday, November 20 in the early morning, by members of the security and intervention squad of the gendarmerie (PSIG) of Escalquens. During his hearing, the thirty-something does not deny the sexual act but seems to minimize the facts. His version does not convince anyone. Following his interrogation, he was charged and imprisoned. The investigation is now in the hands of an investigating judge.
