Coupe de France – Villerupt is still looking for land to receive Annecy
ES Villerupt-Thil should welcome FC Annecy (League 2) on January 7 to compete in the 32nd final of French Cup but the Regional 1 club is still looking for a base. The usual enclosure, the Stade Auguste-Delaune, located in the town of Meurthe-et-Moselle is no longer suitable, nor approved for this level of competition and for the reception of a professional team. The amateur club must find another solution, otherwise the French Football Federation could declare the inversion of the poster and schedule the match at the Parc des Sports in Annecy.

Asked by France Blue Lorraine, the president of the amateur club, Roland Ciro mentioned the possibility of going to play in Thionville or Amnévile, in Moselle therefore, two towns just over 30 kilometers from Villerupt. The idea of playing in Luxembourg, much closer geographically, has been put forward but the rules of the Coupe de France prohibit playing matches outside the national territory. Finally, the failure to play at the Marcel-Picot stadium in Nancy, more than 100 terminals away, has already been ruled out.
