Warsaw. Results of the student exhibition competition at the Prague Quadrennial 2023
The jury of the Competition for an honorary and international student project at the Prague Quadrennial of the 2023 exhibition received the main prize for the work for the title “Asylum” by Ksenia Makała.

The jury of the Competition for an honorary and international student exhibition project at the Prague Quadrennial 2023 composed of: prof. Marek Chowaniec, Jarosław Cymerman, PhD, Anna Kaczkowska, Martyna Kander, PhD, Agnieszka Koecher-Hensel, Krystyna Mogilnicka, PhD, prof. dr hab. Piotr Tetlak founded the main prize for the work entitled “Asylum” by Ksenia Makała.
Ksenia Makała is a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology. Author of projects in the field of architecture, interior design, scenography and interdisciplinary activities. She is interested in space and the relations taking place in it, as well as the urban interaction of the agglomeration, which also affects its well-being. She is the author of the winning project in the Competition for an Art Object in the Polish-German Gardens in Warsaw and a finalist of the aWAKen International Scenic Design Competition.
Ksenia Makała invites a competition project, which is a non-obvious principle of the motto “5:55 Moscow time”. The installation is a pretext to interact with the space. The awarded work combines etherealness and the power of expression, while meeting all the formal requirements assessed by the Organizer.
The Director of the Jury Institute was also awarded an honorary mention for the work: “Social Tomograph” by a team of students of the third year of stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts. Jan Matejko in Krakow: Katarzyna Płaskowicz, Emilia Sarga, Adela Bukowa, Jakub Wójcik, Julia Nowak, Aleksandra Idowiak, Patrycja Piętka and “The Wheel of Sound” by an interdepartmental team consisting of: Ewa Galica (student of directing at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy) , Kasia Gawlik (graduate of Goldsmisths University in London), Marek Idzikowski (student of directing at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy, branch in Białystok) and Klaudia Skuza (student of the Faculty of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw).
Preparations are underway for the edition of the prestigious Prague Quadriennale (Prague Quadriennale 2023, PQ 2023), the world’s largest event dedicated to a special space for performing arts. As part of making events available, the organizers provide one of the creative spaces, an action plan as part of the Student Exhibition. In 2023, it will be held under the slogan “Rare Stories of Extraordinary Places”.
