NOS highlights Portugal’s good position in 5G. Operator already covers 85% of the national territory – Telecommunications
NOS was a telecommunications operator that most invested in the 5G spectrum during the frequency auction in Portugal. And a year after the start of its operations, the company took stock of its coverage, noting that it already covers 85% of the Portuguese population with 5Gπ§π· The operator installed 3,200 antennas, being considered the largest 5G network in the country, refers to the company in a statement.
Also highlight the figures from the most recent report by the 5G Observatory of the European Commission, which was published in October, to reinforce that the coverage of the national 5G network is already above the European average. That is, Portugal has 75% coverage, while the European Union average is 72%.π§π· And Portugal is in 7th in the fastest 5G network in Europe, having passed countries like France, Germany and Spain. And even in August, Portugal had already been placed among top 15 networks with fastest speeds worldwideπ§π·

350 million euros were invested in 5G by NOS, in network resilience and speedπ§π· And according to data from Ookla, cited by the operator, its network is 30% faster than the national average.
In July, NOS inaugurated its 5G Hub in Parque das Naçáesπ§π· that was another investment of 1.8 million euros. This Hub intends to be a living, collaborative and co-creation laboratory for the development of 5G a Nacional level.
