Three men, aged between 23 and 30, are currently being questioned by the police. During an inspection in Toulouse, the BAC found €33,000 in cash. 10 kilos of drugs were also recovered during the expected searches at their homes.
It was supposed to be a simple identity check, but it was created on a “beautiful” legal case. Three men suspected of money laundering and traffic narcotics are currently being interviewed by the police officers of the “narcotics” unit of the Haute-Garonne departmental security.
The case originates in the Croix Daurade district in Toulouse, Tuesday, November 22. Shortly before 8 p.m., during a patrol, a team from the anti-crime brigade noticed three individuals busy around two cars.
This strange behavior leads to an identity check. And approaching one of their cars, a Golf 7, the officials noticed a wad of cash on one of the seats. In all, €33,000 are placed on the seat of the vehicle.
The owner of the Golf assures that he is a car salesman. He would be there to show his vehicle to a potential buyer. According to his version, the €33,000 would belong to the client. In doubt, the three protagonists, aged 23 to 30, are placed in police custody, assisted in particular by Mes Pierre Lebonjour and Christian Etelin.
Money and car seized
During searches at their homes, the police found 5kg of herbal cannabis and 4kg of resin. The man carrying €33,000 admits being a nanny, he would have been forced to pay off a colossal debt. The other two deny any involvement in drug trafficking. This Friday, their auditions continue. The defendants will be referred tomorrow to the Toulouse prosecutor’s office.
“They should, presumably, be tried on Monday during an immediate comparison”, explains the public prosecutor. In the meantime, the money and the two cars were seized.
