The Covid crisis seems behind Newrest. The Toulouse restaurant giant unveiled a “quality financial performance” for the 2021-2022 financial year. This year, the group founded by Olivier Sadran – the former owner of Toulouse FC – did better than in 2019, a pre-Covid year.
Turnover explodes
In its balance sheet, the group, whose main activity is catering for airlines, announces an increase of 84% in its turnover compared to 2021. It has indeed increased from 896 million in 2021 to 1,649 billion euros in 2022.
The turnover for 2022 is even higher than that of 2019, the last year before the start of the Covid-19 crisis (1,527 billion euros).
5,000 jobs created worldwide
Proof of the strong economic recovery, Newrest has created more than 5,000 jobs in 57 countries this past financial year. Nearly a thousand of these employees have also joined Houston (United States) in order to integrate the catering unit (preparation of meals served to passengers, editor’s note) D’United Airlinesthe largest airline in the world.
Europe and France remain the group’s primary markets. But for the past five years, the group has made massive investments in North America. This continent is now Newrest’s third market.
