Salzburg State Parliament: Four topics from the committee deliberations on Wednesday
The committee deliberations of the Salzburg state parliament on Wednesday included the topics of food waste; evaluation of the restructuring of women’s protection facilities; setting up a full-time course or changing the noise limit for leaf blowers and vacuums.
SALZBURG. On Wednesday, November 23, the various committees of the Salzburg state parliament met. Six agenda items were discussed in the morning and four more in the afternoon. The following are just a few of the topics and points covered:
food waste
According to the Landes-Medienzentrum (LMZ) Salzburg, the education, sports and culture committee discussed the FPÖ’s proposal to increase food waste. An application was unanimously accepted, which calls on the Salzburg state government to approach the federal government with the demand to implement rapid measures to increase food waste.
women’s shelters
According to the Landes-Medienzentrum (LMZ) Salzburg, the Social, Society and Health Committee debated an application by the ÖVP regarding an evaluation of the restructuring of the women’s protection facilities on Wednesday. An application was unanimously accepted, which requests the Salzburg state government to evaluate the restructuring of the women’s protection facilities in the state of Salzburg and to report to the state parliament by February 28, 2023.
Degree in Social Work
According to the LMZ, the education, sports and culture committee dealt with an application by the SPÖ regarding the establishment of a full-time course in “social work” at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and accepted it unanimously.
Noise limits for leaf blowers and vacuums
According to the LMZ, the Committee for Economics, Energy and Livelihoods unanimously debated a motion by the Greens to change the noise limit for leaf blowers and vacuum cleaners and measures to be taken.
