Two podiums for Belgium at the Jiu-Jitsu Worlds, Florian Bayili in gold
Belgium placed two of its representatives on the podiums of the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships, which ended on Saturday in Abu Dhabi after three days of competition in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Florian Bayilialready in or at the regular world championships two weeks ago, won gold in under 69 kg (brown belt).
In the final, the 26-year-old from Brussels, a resident of the Brussels Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, beat the Brazilian Carlos Henrique. This is not the first success of the season for the man who ranks 6th in the world, he who has already won, among other things, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in May and gold at the World Games this summer. Still in months of 69 kg, Mojahed Naimbeaten in the quarter-finals, could not clinch the bronze medal via the repechages, failing in the 3rd of 5 rounds.
Jose Nduazulu-Ndilu a bronze medalist in less than 85 kg (purple belt). In the same category, Balatbi Yandarbayev was beaten in the 2nd round of the final draw and then in the 1st round of the repechages.
Two Belgians were active in less than 120 kg (purple belt) with Taleb Chabli and Islam Isaev. Chabli also beat Isaev in the 2nd round of the repechages before being beaten in the 4th and penultimate round by the future bronze medalist.
In less than 56 kg (purple belt), St. Roger was beaten in the quarter-finals and then in the third round of the repechages.
In less than 77 kg (purple belt), mohamed chabli and Shai Gerena saw their journey come to an end respectively in the 3rd and 2nd rounds. Only sent to the repechages, Chabli was stopped in the 3rd round.
Beaten as soon as he entered the race in less than 94 kg (purple belt), Emmanuel Nsimba was beaten in the 2nd round of the repechages.
Finally, in a table of less than 120 kg (black belt) with only six competitors, Paulo Brasil Da Silva could not qualify for the semi-finals after two defeats in Group B.
