We tell you all about the skating rink that replaces the ice rink in Monaco
To deal with the energy crisis, the Prince’s Government is adapting.
After presenting his tariff shield and given some advice to individuals and businesses to reduce their electricity bills, the Government is setting an example and notably sacrifices the ice rink. Although it is traditional, it is also particularly energy-intensive, especially because it is outdoors, and the temperatures here are rather mild.
No question of doing nothing! Instead of the swimming pool at the Rainier III nautical stadium, a “Roller Station” will be installed to replace the ice track. Do not panic if you do not have rollerblades, pairs will be available to visitors.
Likewise, the “Ice Party” scheduled for 7 December at the ice rink for schoolchildren and residents of Monaco aged 12 to 17, organized by the Town Hall as part of the Communal Junior Project, will be reinstated by the “Roller Party”.
