Hungary’s energy consumption decreased by nearly 8% in August

Domestic use of natural gas was 11,992 terajoules (TJ) in August, the lowest monthly figure since September 2014, the report said.

The ratio of net imports to all uses was 27.3 percent, which is 2.4 percentage points higher than the previous year.
The gross electricity production from renewable sources represented an increase of 27.0% compared to the previous year, while the fossil-based electricity production decreased by 5.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. Due to the planned maintenance of the nuclear power plant, the production of nuclear-derived electricity decreased by 19.4. The amount of electricity produced by solar panels increased by 35.3%, while that of wind power plants increased by 11.4%.
