Berlin emergency numbers for the police and fire brigade can be reached again
After a nationwide disruption

Emergency numbers in Berlin can be reached again from all mobile networks
Disruptions to mobile communications and the Internet were also clearly noticeable in Berlin on Thursday. Because this also made it more difficult to reach the emergency numbers, a danger message was issued at times. In the evening the all clear was finally given.
Nationwide disruptions to mobile communications and the Internet made mobile telephony significantly more difficult in Berlin on Thursday.
Above all, the disturbances affected the network of mobile phone provider O2. According to the provider, the reason was a disruption to a server that mediated telephone calls. It was therefore often not possible to call people in the O2 network. However, a large part of the telephone calls could therefore be transmitted via other servers.
In the early evening, a company spokesman reported that the disruption could be partially rectified. “The first measures taken by our technicians have stabilized the networks.” Calls with apps like Whatsapp were possible via data transfer servers.
Deutsche Telekom reported no disruptions, Vodafone only slight restrictions, which were unproblematic for customers.
Temporary danger report for Berlin
Because of the network disruptions, the Berlin fire brigade issued an official hazard warning in the afternoon.
Accordingly, the emergency numbers were increasingly reported. According to the fire brigade, this was due to the mobile telephone networks of the callers – the emergency calls would have worked at any time. The fire brigade therefore recommended calling 110 and 112 only from a landline. The danger report was finally canceled in the evening.
The disturbance did not exist in large areas of Brandenburg, as the control centers informed the rbb.
