Name: Velvet Illumination 2022: THE TRIP IS NOT OVER YET!
place: the parade starts in Kampa Park in Prague
Time: 15:00 – 19:00 hours
Organizer: Velvet lighting
Info about the event: The Velvet Illumination parade will pass through Prague again this year on November 17. Although we sharpened the edge of satire and humor this year, we put even more creative empathy into the creation of masks and lanterns. We feel that the war in Ukraine also affects us and our democracy, which is why we connected with students, children and parents from Ukraine this year. What is it like to leave home and embark on a certain journey to safety? What to take with you as a souvenir? The motif of “a trip that hasn’t ended yet”, as the motto of this year’s parade sounds, was creatively conceived by Czech and Ukrainian artists. Two Prague elementary schools, as well as a club at DDM and a number of other interested members of the public, participate in the creation. Parade route: Kampa – Charles bridge – Křižovnické náměstí – Smetanovo nábřeží – Betlémské náměstí – Masarykovo nábřeží – Národní – 28 October – Na Příkopě – Hybernská 4.
