Toulouse: police seize tens of kilos of cannabis, weapons and ammunition
On Monday, two major seizures of cannabis and another since weapons were made by Toulouse police.
Toulouse police have increased the large seizures of narcotics in recent weeks. Ammunition and weapons often accompany them. Monday, after surveillance, a crew from the anti-crime brigade got hold of two men who were arrested in Blagnac. In the process, a search was carried out in Tournefeuille with specialists from the left bank narcotics and underground economy unit, as well as a canine team, at the home of a relative of one of the suspects.
And the catch was big. Investigators recovered 9.5 kg of cannabis resin and nearly 15 kg of weed, as well as 9mm and 12-gauge ammunition. The custody of the two men has been extended.
On Tuesday, it was a banal traffic check that led the police to a significant discovery. The driver of a car driving erratically on Boulevard d’Arcole in downtown Toulouse was stopped. Officials immediately smelled the characteristic odor of herbal cannabis. And indeed, he was in possession of 62 grams of the product.
Quickly, a search was carried out at this man’s home in the Empalot district by the police of the narcotics unit of the Right Bank. At his home, they found nearly 5 kg of herbal cannabis and a small amount of resin. He was taken into custody to explain himself.
7-65 caliber weapons
At the beginning of the week, still against the background of drug trafficking, the investigators got their hands on weapons. Again, the case began with a traffic offense in the district of Croix-Daurade. A man refused to comply. On him, the police found some narcotics. As he is not completely unknown to the justice, the officials decided to go to his house.
On the spot, they came across a man who was “emptying” the accommodation and leaving with a bag filled with two 7-65 caliber handguns. After his arrest, his home was searched in turn. It contained €4,600 in small denominations but also packaging sachets for the drug, a precision scale, some grass and cannabis resin. The two boys, aged 18 and 22, minimized the facts in police custody. They had to be judged within the framework of immediate comparisons.
