Finally the end of the tunnel for the Museum of Precious Arts Paul-Dupuy of Toulouse ! The building located near the Carmes, which has been under construction for three years, will reopen its doors to the public on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Many novelties
The building had closed due to works, produced after the Jean-Paul Marchesci exhibition, which was held from December 2018 to spring 2019. The construction lasted more than three years and is therefore coming to an end: it is on November 16 that the opening to the public will be effective, with several new features on the program.
Starting with a better accessibility to the public, a new welcome bank and new videos in the course. A digital terminal will be installed at the reception of the museum. The museography will also be refurbished, supplemented by videos and a dedicated application. Finally, visitors could discover a new course of visit, with an eclecticism of the collections which will be preferred, just like their sometimes quirky aspect.
From basement to first floor
In the basement, there will be a nod to cinema, with the projection booth which will present, in two rooms, the museum collection. It will give pride of place to pre-cinema optical processes. the cabinet of preciousness will enliven the ground floor through four spaces. The museum’s collection of decorative arts will be included. Finally, the cabinet of time will be installed on the first floor. It will present the collection of old clocks.
