A rare blood donation operation at the Avignon mosque
With the French Blood Establishment (EFS), the El Boukhari mosque in Avignon, in the Vaucluse, is organizing a blood drive on Friday, November 18 on the premises of the Muslim place of worship.
EFS “exerting great awareness efforts to supply and research its blood supply”, let the mosque know. While the civilian blood transfusion operator in France regularly alert on very critical levels of reserves “in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in particular and in our country in general”, the leaders of El Boukhari, including Mohammed Moussaoui, president of the Union of French Mosques (UMF), have been a part, have suggested making their contribution on the occasion of the week devoted to rare bloods which will take place from 14 to 20 november.
In France, a blood group is said ” rare “ when less than four people out of 1,000 present it in the population and there are no other compatible blood groups to transfuse these patients, informs the EFS. 250 rare blood groups have been identified in the country, i.e. approximately 700,000 individuals. “Your blood type is particularly likely to be rare or infrequent if you or your ancestors are from Africa, the Caribbean (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana) or the Indian Ocean (Réunion, Mayotte, Comoros, etc.) », stands for EFS. The call for participation is launched to the faithful of the El Boukhari mosque, who can register herelike most people.
