Ukraine has sought over 30 types of weapons from Bulgaria
Ukraine has requested from Bulgaria the supply of more than 30 types of equipment from Bulgaria. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to our country Vitaly Moskalenko to BNT.
He pointed out that he very importantly watched the debates in the parliament on the provision of military aid to Ukraine. He considers the decision of the Bulgarian National Assembly to be “very correct”.
The list is quite wide and varied – from means of anti-aircraft defense to howitzers, helicopters and aircraft.
“We want different types of facilities from Bulgaria from the very beginning. We have listed more than 30 items in the Ministry of Defense list, which includes air defense equipment that is most needed now. drones, such a weapon is extremely necessary. S-300, as well as anti-aircraft missile complexes, installations. The issue of the delivery of 152 mm howitzers, self-propelled artillery installations, shells, mortars, etc. remains relevant.ugh”said Vitaly Moskalenko.
According to him, the list can be satisfied on many points, because Bulgaria has these weapons.
“Earlier we gave a request for helicopters and Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft. All the facilities that Bulgaria had at the time of the USSR are absolutely necessary for us, for Ukraine”additional deputy Moskalenko.
What Bulgaria is ready to provide to Kyiv will be clear within a month. Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov has already said twice that expectations should be conservative and that our country will not provide anti-aircraft missile complexes that Ukraine needs, only ammunition.
Ambassador Moskalenko pointed out that in connection with the energy crisis in his country after the Russian missile attacks on critical infrastructure, Bulgaria is also seeking help in the form of electricity generators. But still no solution.
“Council of Ministers should consider the matter a week ago, but be adjourned for any week”said Moskalenko.
He pointed out that Bulgaria has not repaired any Ukrainian weaponry despite the agreement concluded between the two governments in May.
“An ex-minister of defense said that according to this agreement we were counting on repairing tanks that we should get from a neighboring country that has Severna (Northern Macedonia) in its name. They handed over T-72 tanks to Ukraine, but their renovation and bringing to conditions is constant in Ukrainian enterprises – said Moskalenko. Maybe the Bulgarian enterprises would make them qualitatively, but for a very long time, with great difficulties… And what other equipment should we repair here? back – not profitable”, message Moskalenko.
In front of “Bulgaria on Air” TV, Gen. Sabi Sabev told what weapons they provide cannot be to Ukraine.
“What we have in reserve with T-72 tanks, armored personnel carriers, we also have multiple rocket launchers, of which Ukraine has great needs, which we also have self-propelled artillery installations, which are also necessary for the defense of Ukraine. We also have air defense assets, beyond those S-300s that are visualized too often in the commentsu”, Sabev said.
According to him, our country has enough to give to Kyiv, including different types of ammunition, shooting equipment and mortars.
“If Bulgaria does a good job, including in the diplomatic aspect, it can look for replacement capacity from our partners in NATO – Germany, Great Britain, the USA, and also Italy – in place of the surrendered heavy equipment. As Greece did – for providing nearly 200 machines of Soviet production for the infantry, it received corresponding ones from Germany, but much more modern and reliable.“, said Gen. Subev.
He pointed out that there is an EU fund that compensates a definition of the countries that mainly provide heavy equipment to Ukraine. These funds, with which the fund is restored, can also be used to buy weapons systems that Bulgaria needs, said Gen. Subev. He pointed out that some countries have already received euro funds for this.
