The reason for the cold front is low Nele in combination with Ottilie. Behind it, the steady Bahrudin high will follow at the weekend, which will calm the weather down again. On Sunday the high suddenly shifts to Eastern Europe and in the evening the weakening occlusion of a powerful low-pressure complex over the Atlantic reaches the country. A red storm warning is currently in effect in some regions. UWZ meteorologist Martin Templin knows what the weather will be like in the coming hours.
In the night to Saturday the rain eases up in the east and north of the urban country. In the second half of the night, new showers will come from the west, which will build up in the western northern Alps. The snow line here is around 1,100 m. In addition, there is a brisk to strong north-west wind blowing on the eastern edge of the Alps.
Am Saturday generally dense clouds persist, on the central north side of the Alps and generally in the west it rains or snow falls above around 1200 m. In the Rhine Valley, individual thundery showers are not entirely pleasant during the course of the day. In the south and east, on the other hand, it is mostly dry, but the sun is most likely to appear in East Tyrol and Carinthia. The wind is blowing briskly, also strong on the eastern edge of the Alps with occasional stormy gusts from the north-west, in the south it will be föhn.
Early fog on Sunday
Of the Sunday starts with early fog in the inner Alps and in the Danube region, otherwise the sun will shine. In the course of the day, the sun finally shows up widely before it gets dark again in the west in the evening. The wind generally calms down and turns to the east in the modern Danube region.
Am Monday will remain dry across the country in the early morning hours, with the exception of a few drops in the southeast and central highlands. During the day, a mix of sun and clouds prevails, with the sun clearly gaining the upper hand, especially in the south and south-east of the country. The wind blows only weakly, in the north at times moderately from all directions.
