A Russian peasant showed AvtoVAZ how to make cars. He created his VAZ-2115 in the body, which was not
In the assortment of the AvtoVAZ company there was a huge number of different cars, for every taste. Specifications: they are all sent to each other, only the bodies have changed. Sedans and station wagons, hatchbacks and coupes, all this was in the company’s model line, but the manufacturer did not introduce a coupe sedan. The domestic experimenter considered this a big omission of the Russian auto giant and decided to correct such an injustice.
About a rather interesting project, according to VAZ-2115 coupe sedan and will be discussed in this article. As a rule, this project should be based on the VAZ-21099, but it was not possible to find a body in a “live” state. In this regard, it was decided to create a project based on the “tag”, as these cars are fresher and managed to find a “live” body.
The purchased VAZ-2115 was not in the best technical condition, but there was no time to deal with it. The author of the project immediately came to the world of appearance. In order to make a coupe sedan out of a sedan, you need to get rid of the rear doors. To do this, the back of the VAZ-2108 was welded onto the original body of the VAZ-2115, and the doors from this hatchback were also taken, since they are longer.
It turned out that the appearance of the car turned out to be very unsightly. In this regard, it was decided to reduce the height of the roof by 6 places, while it was necessary to leave the original windshields. To do this, the central pillars were cut down by 6, and the angle of inclination was simply changed at the rear and front, filling them up towards the cabin.
Then the car arrived for painting and, in fact, was painted in a bright orange color. It is worth saying that the author of the project replaced the original 8-valve engine with a 16-valve one, installed a quiet forward flow, new wheels with rubber, spacers, etc. The result was a very bright and noticeable car that even AvtoVAZ could not create.
