Below, the press release from the municipal group “Dijon Autre”:
The two buildings proposed in a former quarry, chemin la fontaine in Cayen, in the Marcs-d’Or district, are a textbook case of what not to do. The promoter wants to build while an independent geotechnical expert has pointed out the risks of quarry instability and falling rocks. The Regional Council, owner of the high school located overhanging, has also said that it is “aware of the encouraged risk”.
In addition, the site hosts a resurgence, which dates from 1355, converted into a small fountain. Serious questions therefore concern the modification of the natural flow of water and a risk of pollution in the event of construction, while we are close to the Gorgets catchment field. Several environmental associations are mobilizing. The “Patrimoine Environnement” association notes “a gap between the project and the success of the ecological transition”. France Nature Environnement unsuccessfully challenged the 1st Deputy Mayor, yet in charge of the ecological transition, evoking “a space still preserved and rare in the metropolis. »
On this file, we would like to underline the total absence of dialogue between the municipality and the local residents who are legitimately concerned. This attitude is a thousand miles away from the rhetoric about participatory democracy. While a steamroller is now on site and the start of work seems imminent, the Mayor of Dijon, repeatedly obliged, must now become aware of his responsibility and have the project stopped.
