Monaco revives, Nantes and Clermont neutralize each other

After two games without a win, AS Monaco wanted to bounce back and revive against Angers, 19th at kick-off. The Angevins, deprived of Sofiane Boufal or Diony, hoped to take points so as not to be left behind in the maintenance race. But once again, Gérald Baticle’s men conceded a defeat, the ninth of the season already, after a serious and diligent first period. Despite the missed penalty from Ben Yedder, Monaco got away with it thanks to the achievements of Embolo (54th) then Golovin (70th). The Monegasques are sixth while Angers are now bottom of Ligue 1. After their heroic victory in the last seconds against Qarabag, Nantes received Clermont at La Beaujoire. Antoine Kombouaré’s men had to take points after a complicated start to the season and a worrying 15th place in a year with 4 runs. But against Clermontois who are also playing for their survival, the Canaries could not do better than snatch a draw. Borges opened the scoring for the visitors (54th) before Mostafa Mohamed equalized (73rd). A parity score that does no one’s business.
